Destructorium is a purpose-built unit for human-controlled obliteration. Visitors to the gallery may insert objects into the square hatch on the left hand side of the zinc unit. The central panel of the unit contains a peep-hole, through which the visitor may view at close range the destruction of objects by means of human hands and tools. Objects’ remains are then ejected through the round hole to the right hand side of the unit. Destructorium aims to provide a harmless outlet for destructive human behaviour.

The work was exhibited as part of the group show The Perennial Gale, with Kirill Tulin, Rachel Kinbar and Jonas Van den Bossche at EKA galerii, 1.-10. December 2016.
